This is the voice from inside Iran: “No to Hate Day”

This Friday, 23 June 2017, is the last Friday of the month of Ramadan. In the middle east and several Islamic countries, this day is called “Quds day” as Khomeini - the leader of Iran’s Islamic revolution - named it. The Islamic republic of Iran and its supporters all around the world will hold demonstrations on this day. Don't make a mistake! It's not about the Palestinians or their rights; it's all about hatred and wishing for the destruction of Israel.

Please raise a voice against “Hate Day” and help brave Iranians, who risk their lives, to be heard. Those who are appeasing Islamism and opposing the only true democracy in the middle east don't like this kind of voice.

Some brave Iranian activists from inside Iran started an action on social media to oppose celebrating hatred and violence on this day. I am a Muslim and Refugee from Iran. I don't appreciate or celebrate this day. I am joining my brave fellow Iranians in saying “No” to Quds day and in saying no to khomeinism, racism and antisemitism.

I clearly remember those days in the Iranian pro-democracy protests in 2009, green movement, that people were chanting in the streets of Tehran: “No, Gaza! No, Lebanon! We will sacrifice our souls for Iran!” while the brutal forces and militia of the regime were shooting at them and beating them to death. You never heard any “death to Israel” or “death to America” during all those protests.

As a former political prisoner, who was arrested several times and went on hunger strike two times, I know very well that expressing sign of friendships with Israel and opposing Khomeini's anti-Israeli rhetoric may put your life in danger; the risk to be executed is real and imminent.

My dear Canadian friends, my dear Jewish friends, my dear Christian friends, my dear Muslim friends and my dear atheist friends! Dear all friends! Please raise a voice against “Hate Day” and help brave Iranians, who risk their lives, to be heard. Those who are appeasing Islamism and opposing the only true democracy in the middle east don't like this kind of voice.

In the coming week, the one of the world’s largest pride parades is being held in Toronto. Conversely, the largest pride parade in the entire Middle East is held annually in none other than Israel.

It does not matter whether you are a liberal or conservative, let us all unite together to say No to the hate day. The day will come that we will tie Iran’s true flag with Israel’s flag and achieve peace in the Middle East. The day will come when love wins. Till that day, let us be on the side of love and peace instead of hatred and racism.

I would like to ask anyone who reads these lines to join us in promoting peace by using the hashtag on Twitter and other social media. Don't let the voices of brave Iranians be silenced. #NoHateDay
