Wenn ausgerechnet in Najaf das iranische Konsulat in Flammen aufgeht, dann heißt das etwas, dann könnte die Botschaft an Teheran klarer nicht sein:

Iraqi angry protesters on Wednesday evening burned down the Iranian consulate in the southern city of Najaf.

The staff managed to evacuate through a back door before the building was set on fire, Reuters cited police sources, adding that a curfew was announced in the city.

The entire facility was set on fire by the protesters, the sources added.
