Auch wenn man vorsichtig sein sollte, wenn Parteien in der Region als liberal bezeichnet werden, so ist doch klar, dass sich auch bei diesen Wahlen ein recht klarer Trend durchsetzt: In Nordafrika und dem Nahen Osten befindet sich der Stern der Islamisten am Sinken:
